Marble tiles for mosaics

Over the years we have specialized in the production and sale of defective marble chip tiles, which, thanks to their cheaper cost compared to premium-choice materials, are especially suitable to be cut into tesserae or smaller formats to be used in the production of borders, medallions, carpets, moduling and any type of marble mosaic.

:: Range

The selected material is divided according to the size into 5 different categories (broken corner - selected broken corner - block result tiles - second choice - Palladiana/crazy tiles)

Broken corner ("Sbeccato"): polished and/or smoothed chipped tiles with 1 side measuring 305 and another side ranging between 120 and 250 (photo of "Sbeccato" tiles).



Select broken corner ("Sbeccato selezionato"): polished and/or smoothed chipped tiles with 1 side measuring 305 and another side ranging between 250 and 305 (photo of "Sbeccato selezionato" tiles).



Block result tiles("Resa blocco"): these tiles comprise all those obtained by sawing a block of marble. These are polished and/or honed non-beveled tiles that are mostly intact with a variable percentage of about 35% of chipped material and the remaining part of 305x305x10 tiles (photo of "Resa blocco").



First and second quality tiles: intact polished and/or honed tiles, either packed in Styrofoam boxes or bulk. (photo of inferior quality).



Palladiana/Crazy tiles:pieces of marble with an irregular shape, polished or honed surface and different sizes.

Since our core business is focused mainly on mosaics, we are well aware of the fact that, for mosaic producers/designers, the thickness of the tiles is essential. Although the material we offer has defects (chipped and irregular), the thickness of the tiles are cut precisely to 7.5, 8, 9 or 10 mm or to any other size depending on the customer's requirements.

There are two phases in the material's calibration:

During phase 1 the material's thickness is measured by hand tile by tile. This check is performed by our workers using a manual gauge. After this check, all of the material is divided by thickness (with a tolerance of +/- 0.5 mm). In phase 2 the out-of-range material is planed using a gauging machines that reduce all of the material to the desired thickness according to our customers' requirements.

All of the material that reaches our premises (we have 4,000 square meters of floor space plus other outdoor areas amounting to a total of 50,000 square meters) is thoroughly selected by our expert staff (we have specialized workers dedicated solely to this task) and divided by type of marble, surface finish, size and thickness.

The material duly divided by thickness, surface finish (polished, honed, raw, filled, not-filled) is then packed on pallets, in wood crates, in bundle or in a big bag (Palladian/Crazy tiles only) or bound together.

The ongoing search for new types of stones has led us to have a wide range (now more than 150 different varieties and this number is always rising) of Italian and foreign stones (marble, granite, travertine, onyx, slate, sandstone, limestone). Most of these are always in stock and this allows us to immediately meet any request by our customers

The unique care we devote to this sector and its continuous growth have led us to become the manufacturers of our products after starting our business as dealers. In our workshop we have a full array of machines for the production of marble tiles to obtain those defective tiles for our perfectly planed mosaics from uneven material, extremely thick pieces or blocks. This allows us to be very versatile in meeting our customers' requirements both with regard to the types of marble and the desired thickness.
